Job Description
Desired level of education: BS Computer Science
Years of experience: 4+
Responsibilities include providing build and release engineering
services, execution of production tasks, as well as representing
Build Engineering on product teams.
Utilize Unix scripting programming skills to design/maintain/improve our
build systems and other tools.
* Build, verify, and release multiple source code streams of Sun
Tools products across a wide set of supported platforms
* Manage production builds
- Manage the scheduling of builds, mitigating resources and the needs of internal customers
- Analyze build problems; work with developers to resolve
problems
* Execute build configuration duties including the verification
of system level functionality, source code repository administration
* Work with team members to resolve and correct system and operational
problems
* Work to automate and improve configuration management processes
* Design and implement script-based utilities that interface with
source code control systems, execute builds, create and distribute
release kits, monitor processes, analyze results, and provide audit
capabilities
* Research and develop ways to make our system more efficient and
productive.
Требования к кандидату:
Required skills:
* Strong shell-script programming skills
* Familiarity working on Unix systems
* Good experience with some of source code management systems
* Flexibility in working with geographically dispersed teams
* Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
* Strong English language skills (both written & spoken)
Preferred skills:
* Experience with build or release engineering
* Some knowledge of Python, Ant, Mercurial, NetBeans, Perl, Maven
* Familiarity with development using Java and Ant
